Caravana Metropolis brings European and Romanian cinema closer to audiences, turning city spaces into open-air screening venues. Held every year since 2012, the project by Asociația Culturală Metropolis has reached more than 19 towns and cities and drawn over 430,000 viewers. Its selection showcases acclaimed European and auteur films from international festivals, in a cultural experience open to everyone.
Between September 10 and 12, 2026, Caravana stopped at the Summer Theatre in Târgu Mureș for three evenings of free screenings. Each film was preceded by an introductory presentation and followed by a discussion with producer Daniel Mitulescu. The program also included three "How is a film made?" workshops, where participants discovered the stages of making a film, from development and financing through to distribution.
Through screenings, workshops and encounters with film professionals, Caravana Metropolis encourages the discovery of European cinema and dialogue between filmmakers and the community.
