Four weekends of film, music and poetry in the courtyards of historic manor houses across Romania. A project by Asociația Culturală Metropolis, run in partnership with Fundația Pro Patrimonio, temporarily turning the courtyards of four heritage estates into public spaces for culture — open-air European cinema, concerts, poetry performances, and activities for children and young people.
For three days at each location, heritage becomes the setting for a shared cultural experience. A large screen set up in each manor's courtyard will host screenings of recent European films, drawn from the world of internationally recognized auteur cinema that still speaks directly to a wide audience — the selection includes Silent Friend by Ildikó Enyedi, Little Amélie, Nouvelle Vague by Richard Linklater, and La Grazia by Paolo Sorrentino.
The program also includes concerts in acoustic and contemporary formats (guests include Simona Delegeanu and Sara Eslami) and live contemporary poetry performances, with authors such as Moni Stănilă, Ligia Keșișian, Marius Aldea, Sorin Despot, and Ioana Tătărușanu. For children and teenagers, there will be stop-motion animation workshops, creative writing sessions, and a heritage treasure hunt.
Throughout the project, there is also an awareness and fundraising campaign for Conacul Perticari–Davila in Izvoru, Argeș, cared for by Fundația Pro Patrimonio and at a critical moment in its existence. Donations can be made at propatrimonio.org/donate.
